The Future of Women’s Football

On the day of the Lionesses v USWNT game (7 October 2022), we hosted a panel discussion led by players and ex-players from each squad.

Kara Nortman, co-founder of Angel City FC, chatted about Angel City FC’s conception, and their ground-breaking first year. Meg Linehan, senior writer for The Athletic, spoke with Becca Roux, Executive Director of the USWNTPA, and Cindy Parlow Cone, President of the US Soccer Federation, about The Yates Report, Pay Equity, and their aspirations for the women’s game in the US.

George Atallah, Assistant Executive Director of the NFLPA, hosted a Q&A about athlete advocacy and player power with Maheta Molango, Chief Executive of the PFA, Sarah Gregorious, Director Policy & Strategy for Women’s Football at FIFPRO, and DeMaurice Smith, Executive Director of the NFLPA.

It was a morning of meaningful conversations surrounding the present and future of women’s football, rounded off by a fantastic performance from the Lionesses on Friday night.
